State Emergency Commission Supplies Equipment and Feed Ahead of Harsh Winter

Ulaanbaatar, January 16, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The Government of Mongolia and the State Emergency Commission are planning and implementing early measures to reduce dzud risks and minimize potential losses.

Prime Minister and Chair of the State Emergency Commission Gankhuyag Khassuuri
has delivered 20 high-mobility vehicles from the state reserve to aimags where
winter conditions are expected to be severe. In addition, two motor graders and
five loaders have been provided to selected aimags and soums at risk of heavy
snowfall and road and mountain pass closures.
As part of efforts to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of healthcare and other public services to herders and residents, and to prevent and mitigate risks arising from harsh winter and spring conditions, the State Emergency Commission has decided to supply necessary equipment from the state reserve to aimag and soum health centers, local government administrations, and emergency service units. Furthermore, the Government has decided to allocate 796 tons of hay and 8,154 tons of animal feed, which are currently being distributed.
