Ulaanbaatar, January 19, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Construction of a trade and service center on the Tourist Street in Chingeltei District has been completed and officially approved by the state commission.

Mayor of Ulaanbaatar Nyambaatar Khishgee and Head of the Capital City Investment Department Munkhbat B. inspected the newly built three-storey service center, which includes an underground parking facility for 109 vehicles, and provided information to the public.

Mayor Nyambaatar stated that the underground parking facility and the three-storey service center at Urt Tsagaan have received official approval. The underground parking can accommodate 109 vehicles and includes designated spaces for persons with disabilities as well as electric vehicle charging stations. A smart system providing real-time information on available parking spaces has also been installed. He noted that the city plans to further expand underground parking and is currently exploring the feasibility of constructing such a facility at Barigachidyn (Builders’) Square. The parking area is directly connected to the service center by elevators.

The mayor emphasized that Urt Tsagaan Street was originally designed as a tourist-oriented area. In the near future, real estate development models will be introduced, and the entire area will be leased through an open selection process. He expressed appreciation to the construction company for completing the project on time and fulfilling its contractual obligations. He also noted that the capital city has declared 2026 as the “Year of Supporting Entrepreneurs,” under which support will be provided to businesses across all sectors, particularly domestic enterprises.

Mayor Nyambaatar added that the former Urt Tsagaan artisan services center is being redeveloped in the area near the 32nd Circle, in line with its original purpose. While projects often face opposition at the outset, he said tangible results are now being achieved. Most importantly, the new service center will create new jobs. He also called on nearby property owners to renovate building facades to enhance the city’s appearance and urban culture.

The three-storey service center will offer a wide range of services for tourists, including souvenir shops, retail outlets for nationally produced goods, coffee shops, and restaurants. The top floor features a terrace, making it suitable for restaurant operations during the warm season. The building combines modern architectural and design solutions with traditional national patterns and motifs. Each floor is equipped with restrooms, including facilities designed for persons with disabilities.

The former “Urt Tsagaan” artisan services center building, located in the 3rd khoroo of Chingeltei district, was demolished in November 2024. Based on public feedback, a decision was made to construct a complex comprising a service center, an underground parking facility, and a public park. In August 2025, the surface landscaping of the 1.3-hectare park was completed and opened for public use.
