Ulaanbaatar, January 20, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Article 8.1 of the revised Law on General Education of Mongolia, adopted in 2023, stipulates that education shall be organized in classroom, non-classroom, or blended formats.
Accordingly, under Order No. A/01 of the Minister of Education dated July 19, 2024, on approving the new structure of the academic year, classes for Grades X-XII at general education schools in the capital are to be conducted online during the 21st week of the 2025-2026 academic year. Therefore, high school students at Ulaanbaatar’s general education schools began online classes on January 19, 2026.
Given global development trends, rapid social change, and current conditions, the need to introduce blended learning models based on modern information and communication technologies at all levels of education has been increasing, making the organization of online learning necessary.
Meanwhile, in rural areas, students
began attending classes in person from January 19, 2026.
