Zandanshatar: Mongolia to Develop AI-Based Teaching Assistants Tailored to Each Student

Ulaanbaatar, January 21, 2026 /MONTSAME/. During the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Prime Minister of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav took part in a panel discussion on the skills young people need to shape today’s society and future opportunities and delivered remarks.
In his address,
Prime Minister Zandanshatar emphasized the importance of using artificial
intelligence in the education process effectively and
responsibly, noting that AI knowledge should be regarded not as a competitive advantage, but as a fundamental skill.
He
stated, “We
are working toward developing and expanding the use of AI-based teaching
assistants tailored to the individual characteristics of each student. Mongolia
is transitioning toward an AI-based education system.
As part of education reforms shifting the focus from teaching to learning, Mongolia will introduce a subject providing foundational knowledge of artificial intelligence and technology into the primary education curriculum starting from the next academic year.”
