Ulaanbaatar, January 22, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The Plant Protection Organization of Mongolia has digitized certification and notification services for plants and plant-based raw materials and products since last year, and has put into operation an export single-window electronic system.

As part of expanding foreign cooperation, agreements have been reached with Uzbekistan, a trilateral agreement has been signed with China and Russia, and efforts are underway to conclude three quarantine protocols with China.

The Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry reported that during Vice Minister Nyamjav Baasansuren’s visit to the Organization, support was requested to incorporate the ePhyto electronic certification arrangement, issue re-export certificates, and develop and approve five implementing regulations under the Law on Plant Health and the Law on Plant Protection.

The Plant Protection Organization of Mongolia was established last year with three divisions and 19 staff positions, and conducted surveys on the spread and damage of harmful organisms in croplands of the central region, as well as monitoring on the prevention and control of diseases and pests in fruit and berry crops. To date, 5,468 quarantine certificates and notifications for plants and plant-based raw materials and products have been issued, and 20 international standards have been localized and approved for national use.
