PM Zandanshatar Meets Former UK PM Tony Blair

Ulaanbaatar, January 23, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister Zandanshatar Gombojav, while attending the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, met with former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair, founder of the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI).
Prime Minister Zandanshatar spoke with Tony Blair about
Mongolia’s current government’s policies, activities, and Mongolia’s
development plan for 2026-2030. He also highlighted efforts to diversify the
economy and increase productivity through practical, systematic use of
artificial intelligence and technology.
The two sides exchanged views on strategic public engagement
and the organization of the 17th session of the UN Convention to Combat
Desertification (UNCCD COP17). They agreed to explore further cooperation. PM
invited Tony Blair to participate in Mongolia’s Economic Forum in June and the
17th UN Convention session on Combating Desertification in August this year.
Mr. Blair in 2013 officially advised then Mongolian Government on the country’s economic transformation.
