Olympic Bronze Medalist Bolortuya to Lead MNOC Athletes’ Commission

Ulaanbaatar, January 23, 2026 /MONTSAME/. More than 10 sectoral commissions operate under the Mongolian Olympic Committee (MNOC), supporting initiatives, international cooperation, action planning, event organization, and project implementation.
At the regular meeting of the Athletes’ Commission held at “Olympic House,” Tokyo, Olympic bronze medalist and Honored Athlete of Mongolia, Bolortuya Bat-Ochir, was appointed Chair of the Commission. Under the MNOC’s rules, the Chair must be an athlete who has competed and achieved results in the past three Olympic Games. Accordingly, Rio de Janeiro Olympic bronze medalist and Honored Athlete of Mongolia, Otgondalai Dorjnyambuu, handed over his duties. He has led the Commission since 2018, organizing activities such as training programs, camps, and forums for young athletes.
The Commission discussed organizing
a wide range of activities for athletes participating in events held under the
auspices of the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of
Asia, as well as activities marking the 70th anniversary of the MNOC. Members
also emphasized the need to launch major public campaigns to promote sports and
to strengthen policy-based training of human resources in the sports sector.
