UNICEF Representative Awarded the 'Friendship' Medal

Ulaanbaatar, January 23, 2026 /MONTSAME/. By decree of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, the “Friendship” Medal was conferred upon Evariste Kouassi-Komlan, Resident Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). The award was presented by the Senior Adviser to the President of Mongolia, Khurelbaatar Nyamdavaa.
The honor recognizes Kouassi-Komlan’s significant contributions and dedicated efforts to advancing child development and protection in Mongolia, reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, promoting education, and supporting the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including efforts to mitigate its social and economic impacts.
According to the Office of the President, Evariste Kouassi-Komlan was appointed as UNICEF Resident Representative in Mongolia on December 9, 2021.
