Mongolian Delegation Attends Olympic Council of Asia General Assembly

Ulaanbaatar, January 27, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The 46th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) was held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.


Mongolia was represented at the General Assembly by International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member and OCA Executive Board Member, President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC) Battushig Batbold; MNOC First Vice President Naranbaatar Choigavaa; and MNOC Head of the Foreign Relations Department Bayartuyа Bayarsaikhan.


Representatives of National Olympic Committees from 45 Asian countries, as well as delegates from the International Olympic Committee, international sports federations, and organizing committees of upcoming multi-sport events, took part in the Assembly. During the session, participants reviewed activity reports of the Olympic Council of Asia, reports from its commissions, proposed amendments to the OCA Charter, and received briefings on the upcoming Asian Games “Sanya 2026” and “Aichi–Nagoya 2026,” as well as the “Riyadh 2026” Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.


It was also announced that Raja Randhir Singh of India, who had been serving as President of the Olympic Council of Asia, is unable to continue performing his duties due to health reasons. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, was elected as his successor. He became the 22nd President of the OCA and will serve until 2028. Sheikh Joaan was the sole candidate in the election and ran unopposed.
