Mongolian Wrestlers Shine at Ivan Yarygin Tournament, Win Two Golds

Ulaanbaatar, February 2, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The Ivan Yarygin International Wrestling Tournament, named after the renowned Russian wrestler, was held in Krasnoyarsk, the Russian Federation, where Mongolian wrestlers won two gold, one silver, and seven bronze medals.
On
the opening day of the 37th edition of the tournament, Munkh-Erdene Batkhuyag
claimed the gold medal, ending a 27-year gold medal drought for Mongolia’s
men’s team at the event. In addition to winning his weight category, he was
also named Best Wrestler of the tournament.
On
the final day of competition, Tuvshinjargal Tarav, competing in the women’s 76
kg weight category, delivered an outstanding performance to win the gold medal.
Representing the “Khilchin” Sports Committee and the “Khantaishir” Wrestling
Club of Gobi-Altai aimag. As a result, Mongolia’s national anthem was played
twice during the 37th edition of the tournament in Krasnoyarsk.
In addition, bronze medals were won by Urtanasan G. in the women’s 76 kg category, Bolortungalag Z. in 72 kg, Odgerel E. in 68 kg, national team member Khulan B. in 57 kg, and Otgontuya B. in 53 kg. Enkhjin T. and Bolortuya Kh. also secured bronze medals.
