Amina Janbota Wins Second Consecutive Youth World Title

Ulaanbaatar, February 2, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championships were held in Malbun, Liechtenstein, across three age categories, where Mongolian athletes won three medals.


Mongolia’s eight-member team, coached by Otgonkhuu. D won one gold and two bronze medals among 150 athletes from over 20 countries. All eight Mongolian athletes advanced to the finals, marking a notable achievement.


In the women’s U20 category, Amina Janbota claimed the gold medal, with Mongolia’s national anthem played. She previously won gold in the U18 category at the UIAA Ice Climbing World Youth Championships held in Ouray, Colorado, the United States, in 2025. With this victory, she has become a two-time consecutive Youth World Champion. In addition, Enkhrii-Erdene Batchuluun earned her second bronze medal in the U16 category, repeating last year’s result, while Munkhbayar Purevsuren won her first international medal in the women’s U18 category.
