Ulaanbaatar, February 9, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Prime Minister  Zandanshatar Gombojav presented the 2026 Prime Minister’s Award to world-renowned opera singer and People’s Artist Amartuvshin Enkhbat on February 6, 2026.

At the ceremony, the Prime Minister emphasized that Amartuvshin’s 2025 Rome Opera Star Award for Best Baritone ranks among the world’s most prestigious honors, on par with the Oscar and Grammy Awards. Prime Minister Zandanshatar further extended congratulations to Honored Teacher Yeroo Tserenpil, who prepared the singer for the global stage.

After receiving the award, Amartuvshin Enkhbat said, “I have been recognized by the State and have received the Prime Minister’s Award. I am deeply moved that my modest efforts have been appreciated and that I have been awarded such a prestigious honor. Although I am working on a very tight schedule, I came up with plans to return after greeting my parents on the first day of the Tsagaan Sar. For the past six years, I have not been able to celebrate Tsagaan Sar with my parents. There are now only two places where I have not yet performed. One is Argentina’s most famous Teatro Colón, and the other is Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Italy, where I dream of singing.”

The Prime Minister’s Award carries a monetary award of MNT 200 million, funded from the Government's reserve fund.
