Ulaanbaatar, February 9, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The seven-year cooperation agreement between the National Library of Mongolia and the U.S.-based non-governmental organization Asian Legacy Library has concluded the implementation of the “Cataloging and Digitization of Tibetan-Language Texts” project at the National Library.
Under the project, conducted from 2018 to 2025, a total of 11,359 manuscripts were registered, and 199,986 entries were added to the catalog. Of these, 9,930 manuscripts comprising 3,026,668 pages were digitized.
By registering and digitizing this major portion of rare and valuable manuscripts preserved at the National Library of Mongolia, the project has improved their preservation and protection, while increasing accessibility for researchers.
