Building My Future from Plastic Waste
Mongol Pulse
Ulaanbaatar, February 10, 2026 /MONTSAME/. My name is Nandin Davaasuren.
In 2023, together with my friends, I founded INMO, short for Innovation Mongolia, to find innovative solutions to reduce plastic waste. When we first established the company, we faced many difficulties. However, we did not give up. After numerous attempts, we finally succeeded in producing our final product, and I remember feeling immense pride in our team.
Although we Mongolians are aware of how dangerously severe the waste problem has become, we tend to pay little attention to it. In reality, public knowledge in this area remains limited. At such a time, it would be meaningless for us, the younger generation, to sit idly by. Last year alone, we recycled 4.4 tons of waste. To share a small story, at the turn of 2025–2026, we introduced Christmas decorations made from recycled plastic waste to the market and sold nearly 1,000 items. Most of our products are souvenir items.
We hope that those who purchase our products will think, “Wow, it’s actually possible to make such beautiful and useful items from waste. We really should sort and recycle our waste.” At the same time, when we say “waste,” we do not want people to imagine something overly large or bulky.
Only seven plastic bottle caps can be turned into a single keychain. Looking ahead, we plan to expand our production and recycle 300–350 tons of waste annually. Therefore, we call on every Mongolian to join us in reducing plastic waste and building a sustainable future together.
Our activities are not limited to production alone. Over the years, we have also worked to help others understand how new ideas can be transformed into innovative products. Most recently, we participated in the “Owners of Innovation” television show organized by NTV under the auspices of the President of Mongolia, where we were selected as one of the top nine finalists.
