Art & Culture
Ulaanbaatar, February 12, 2026 /MONTSAME/. In order to enhance the content and social inclusivity of projects implemented by the Film Promotion Fund, new provisions have been incorporated.
According to the Mongolian National Film Council, Clause 11.16 of Article 11 of the principal agreement has been revised to introduce a requirement that film productions must clearly and visibly reflect Mongolia’s history, culture, customs, and heritage.
Under the amended provision:
• Film projects are required to include elements that express Mongolia’s history, culture, traditions, and national identity, and to prominently feature national symbols such as the portrait of Chinggis Khaan, the morin khuur, and traditional attire.
• To ensure equal accessibility, producers are obligated to provide Mongolian-language subtitles for persons with hearing impairments and to prepare a version with additional synchronized audio narration describing actions and visual elements for persons with visual impairments.
This amendment aims to more distinctly showcase the unique characteristics of Mongolia’s history and culture through national film productions, foster a sense of national pride, and deliver culturally inclusive content accessible to all citizens.
