Ulaanbaatar, February 13, 2026
/MONTSAME/. The Embassy of Italy in Mongolia is organizing “Italian Week”
in Ulaanbaatar for the first time.
During these days, contemporary
Italian culture and outstanding achievements, showcasing art, design, fashion,
music, and lifestyle, are being presented to the public. Official distributors
and trade organizations of Italian products are also providing opportunities
for people to experience Italian culture not only within museum spaces but as
part of everyday life in Ulaanbaatar.
As part of the program, the
exhibition “Italy Is Fashion – Italian Notes” opened on February 12, 2026, at
the Chinggis Khaan National Museum. The exhibition presents the world of design
and fashion through works by leading Italian designers. For example, it
features garments created by Valentino Garavani, as well as works by renowned
designers such as Gio Ponti. In addition, sketches and visual materials of
costumes designed by Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti for the Teatro
dell'Opera di Roma’s 2016 production of La Traviata, staged by Sofia Coppola, are
also on display.
Furthermore, visitors can enjoy a virtual experience titled “Italy Is Fashion – Tradition, Aesthetics, Sustainability, and Innovation,” which highlights the development and core values of Italian fashion.
