Foreign Minister Receives Chinese Vice Foreign Minister

Ulaanbaatar, February 13, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Battsetseg Batmunkh, received the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Sun Weidong, on February 11, 2026.
At the outset of the meeting, Minister Battsetseg
congratulated both sides on the successful regular meeting of the
Mongolia-China Vice Foreign Ministers Dialogue. She emphasized that the mechanism
plays an important role in strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership
between the two countries, advancing trade and economic cooperation, and
enhancing mutual understanding and trust.
She noted that cooperation between the two Ministries of
Foreign Affairs is vital for expanding and developing the Mongolia-China Comprehensive
Strategic Partnership in all sectors. She expressed Mongolia’s commitment to maintaining
the active momentum of bilateral relations and to steadily advancing projects and
programs agreed upon at the level of the two Heads of State that bring tangible
benefits to the peoples of both countries.
The Minister stressed that
Mongolia and China should develop cooperation in all fields based on the
principles of mutual respect for each other’s independence, sovereignty, and
territorial integrity; non-interference in internal affairs; equality and
mutual benefit; and respect for each other’s chosen development path. She
reaffirmed Mongolia’s consistent support for the “One China” policy.
Vice Minister Sun Weidong
expressed his pleasure at meeting Minister Battsetseg and conveyed greetings
from Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He stated that China and Mongolia are
eternal neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, and expressed satisfaction
that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has been actively developing in
all areas in recent years. He affirmed China’s readiness to work closely with
the Mongolian side to successfully implement the initiatives discussed within
the framework of the Strategic Dialogue.
He also emphasized that China
pursues a foreign policy of being “amicable, sincere, mutually beneficial, and
inclusive” toward neighboring countries. He noted that China’s upcoming 15th
Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development will include
objectives to jointly achieve high-quality development with countries
participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, which will create greater
opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
