Ulaanbaatar, February 15, 2026 /MONTSAME/. By decree of President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, Gianni Infantino, a citizen of the Swiss Confederation and President of FIFA, has been awarded the Friendship Medal.

He was recognized for his valuable contribution and dedicated efforts to promoting football internationally, supporting the development of women’s football in Mongolia, strengthening the national team, and helping to train and build the capacity of referees and coaches at the international level.

The award was presented on February 11, 2026, by the Ambassador of Mongolia to the Swiss Confederation, Gerelmaa Davaasuren, at the headquarters of FIFA located in Zurich.
