Ulaanbaatar, February 21, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Senior officials of the capital city held their regular coordination meeting ahead of Tsagaan Sar, chaired by First Deputy Governor of Ulaanbaatar Davaadalai Tumendalai. During the meeting, directives were issued regarding operations during the upcoming Tsagaan Sar, Lunar New Year holiday.

From February 17 to 23, senior officials from 12 engineering utility and local administrative organizations will be on duty at the Ulaanbaatar Emergency Management and Coordination Center. In addition, parking lots at 60 high-traffic locations across the city will be open to the public to ease congestion.

Authorities were instructed to maintain heightened readiness to prevent fire incidents and accidents related to household activities and weather conditions. Fire surveillance, patrols, and inspections will be intensified in ger districts and other high-risk areas, while public warnings and advisories will be regularly disseminated.

District hospitals will be reinforced with additional doctors and ambulances to prevent and respond to risks related to food poisoning and alcohol consumption. Patrols and monitoring will also be strengthened to prevent burglary and robbery in both ger areas and apartment districts, and to maintain order in public spaces.

Officials further directed agencies to enhance traffic safety enforcement, intensify checks against drunk driving and speeding, improve the quality and accessibility of public transportation services, and ensure the reliable operation of engineering utilities, with emergency response teams placed on 24-hour standby.
