Mongolian Wrestlers to Compete in ‘Golden Belt’ Tournament

Ulaanbaatar, February 25, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Sixteen Mongolian wrestlers will compete in the traditional “Golden Belt” wrestling tournament, which is annually organized in early spring in Xilingol League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.
Specifically, the registered Mongolian wrestlers
include Ulsiin Zaan Bat-Ulzii B., Anar D., Serik B., and Sukhbat S.; Ulsiin
Khartsaga Baasankhuu T.; Ulsiin Nachin Batchuluun Ch., Nyam-Erdene
J., Dugerdorj T., Tuvshintugs T., and Togtokhjargal D.; Aimgiin Arslan Altantsooj
D., Usukhbayar B., Batsuuri U., and Tumurtsooj Ts.; Aimgiin Zaan Shirchinkhuu
N.; and Aimgiin Nachin Gonchigsuren B.
The tournament was first organized in 2008 under the name “Khasar” and was
renamed “Golden Belt” in 2019. This year marks the seventh edition under its
current name.
Previous champions include Darkhan Avarga
Batsuuri B., Ulsiin Avarga Burentugs P., Sanjaadamba Ch., Khangai O., and Arslan
Purevdagva R.
Since adopting the name “Golden Belt,” Mongolian wrestlers have won four of
the six tournaments held so far. From Inner Mongolia, wrestlers Tsagaanzaan and
Ulziibaatar have claimed titles.
