Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Within the Summer Davos Forum in China, the Prime Minister of Mongolia Ch.Saikhanbileg participated as a panelist in the “Modern Silk Road” sub-forum held September 9, 2015.

At the sub-forum, Mr Saikhanbileg pointed out that the government of Mongolia and the China’s “Silk Road” initiative have issued the “Steppe Road” initiative, whereas Russia has issued the “Economic corridor” initiative. He emphasized Mongolia is paying special attention as a landlocked country to the initiatives of the three neighboring countries. He added that leaders of Mongolia, China and Russia met together in Ufa, Russia in July of this year to coordinate the Mongolia’s “Steppe road” and China’s “Economic region of Silk Road” initiatives with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

“The closest road between Asia and Europe is the Silk Road, thus Mongolia could play a vital role in developing the regional infrastructure by constructing railways, roads, pipes for natural gas and oil as well as energy lines through territories of Mongolia,” said Mr Saikhanbileg.

“Nations consider the Silk Road initiative in their various views depending on their interests because it is very important to the regional economic cooperation development. In my view, a regional network will be created as results of the initiative, so every country is able to join this initiative by its interest,” he said.

After the sub-forum, Mr Saikhanbileg gave an interview to the CCTV Channel.
