Ulaanbaatar, November 14, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Under the “Warm Home, Healthy Future” project, the Ulaanbaatar City Governor’s Office, in collaboration with UNICEF Mongolia, has delivered insulation and ventilation packages to 1,391 households in Chingeltei and Bayangol districts to improve living conditions in ger areas and reduce air pollution.

UNICEF Mongolia has successfully introduced and expanded the CHIP home insulation, heating, and ventilation package for families living in traditional gers in Ulaanbaatar and aimags. The package aims to reduce outdoor and indoor air pollution and protect children’s health.

A consultation meeting titled “Warm Home, Healthy Future: Achievements, Lessons, and Opportunities” was held on November 13, 2025. Participants discussed the project’s results, lessons learned, and good practices with district and khoroo officials, and heard feedback from partner organizations and beneficiary households. They also exchanged views on areas requiring improvement and further action.

UNICEF Representative to Mongolia Evariste Kouassi-Komlan stated, “It has been more than five years since UNICEF introduced and implemented the CHIP package for ger insulation, heating, and ventilation in Mongolia. Thanks to this package, thousands of households and children in ger kindergartens now have the opportunity to live and grow in a coal-free, safe, and healthy environment.”

Since 2019, the CHIP package has been introduced in 13 aimags and three districts, and is now used by more than 5,000 households. Additionally, the CHIP package has been installed in 42 ger-classrooms across 25 kindergartens in Bayanzurkh District, Bayankhongor, Gobi-Altai, and Sukhbaatar aimags, helping reduce respiratory illnesses among young children caused by indoor air pollution and preventing burn injuries.

Under the “Warm Home, Healthy Future” project, insulation and ventilation products from the CHIP package are provided and delivered to beneficiary households.
