Ulaanbaatar, December 9, 2025 /MONTSAME/. The Mongolian National News Agency MONTSAME began distributing news in Korean starting December 8, 2025.

A Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a Korean-language editorial desk at MONTSAME Agency was signed on November 28, 2025, by Director General of MONTSAME National News Agency Enkh-Orshikh Khurelee and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Choi Jin-won.

The MONTSAME website, www.montsame.mn, which already publishes news in Mongolian (both Cyrillic and traditional script), Russian, English, Chinese, and Japanese, has now begun releasing news in Korean as well.

The initiative to establish a Korean-language editorial team had been actively discussed in recent years and was implemented with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Mongolia on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Since Mongolia transitioned to a market economy and opened its foreign relations in 1990, the Republic of Korea was the first country with which it established diplomatic relations. The launch of MONTSAME’s Korean-language editorial desk will serve as a bridge for expanding economic and political relations between the two countries and play an important role in strengthening mutual understanding between their peoples.

As a side note, in addition to operating its website in the six languages mentioned above, MONTSAME, which is the fastest and most reliable source for promoting Mongolia internationally and delivering global news to the Mongolian public,  also publishes several regular print editions: the weekly newspapers “Khumuun Bichig” (in traditional Mongol script), “Novosti Mongolii” (Russian), “Menggu Xiaoxibao” (Chinese), “Mongoru Tsushin” (Japanese), and “The Mongol Messenger” (English), as well as the quarterly English-language magazine “Mongolia Today.”
