Project 'Green Pasture' to be implemented in Khovd aimag

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Khas Bank, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Mongolian National Federation of Pasture User Groups of Herders are to jointly implement the project Green Pasture in Khovd aimag.
In this regard, Executive Director of Khas Bank M.Bold, Director of Cooperation and Consul General at SDC Gabriella Spirli and Director of the Mongolian National Federation of Pasture User Groups of Herders N.Gankhuyag signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
To be implemented within the ‘Green Gold’ Pasture Ecosystem Management Project, the Green Pasture project is aimed at reducing degradation of pasture, improving livestock health services, boosting meat production as well as increasing income of herder households.
During the signing ceremony, Director of Cooperation and Consul General at SDC Gabriella Spirli said that balancing the livestock population and pasture carrying capacity will mitigate soil degradation and improve the quality of livestock. Currently, the project is working to promote, and supply raw materials of livestock to domestic and foreign markets.
