Ulaanbaatar, February 6, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The 2023-2024 participants of the Australia Awards Scholarships and Zorig Foundation's Women's Leadership Program have jointly launched the Beyond Nutrition project. Within the framework of this project, the participants aim to comprehensively solve the problems of kitchens in selected schools and kindergartens, seeking to improve the taste and nutrition of children's food.

As part of the project, one school and one kindergarten were selected from the capital city Ulaanbaatar. Additionally, one special needs school and two normal and special needs kindergartens were chosen from Darkhan-Uul aimag. In this way, the kitchens of two selected schools and three kindergartens will be equipped to meet the standards. Automatic cup and dish washers will be provided, students will undergo oral health examinations, and nutritional menus will be developed according to the children's age. School and kindergarten chefs and management will receive professional training, and nutrition and health education for parents and students will be organized. The system of providing healthy and safe food will be evaluated and developed.

During the opening ceremony of the project on February 2, 2024, chefs from a secondary school in Ulaanbaatar showcased the lunch menu they prepare for MNT 1500. Additionally, they demonstrated the types of meals that could be prepared if the budget for children's lunch is increased to MNT 3000.
