50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Mongolia and the Kingdom of Thailand

Ulaanbaatar, March 6, 2024 /MONTSAME/. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Kingdom of Thailand. On the occasion of this historic anniversary, congratulatory letters were exchanged between the Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.


President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa noted in his letter that friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries have been developing steadily for half a century and have been deeply strengthened in the international and regional arena, and he expressed the hope that the relations and cooperation with our important partner in Southeast Asia, the Kingdom of Thailand, will be further strengthened in the next 50 years. In his letter, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand Srettha Thavisin pointed out that the relations and cooperation between Thailand and Mongolia have expanded and developed at all levels not only bilaterally but also internationally over the past 50 years.


Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh emphasized in her letter that she is satisfied with the intensification of exchanges between citizens of the two countries in recent years, while the friendly relations and cooperation developed with the Kingdom of Thailand have expanded in many fields such as trade, economy, culture, education, tourism, and health. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, expressed that he will work closely together with Mongolian side to expand and develop friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and Thailand in accordance with the progress of both countries and the interests of both sides.


Mongolia established diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Thailand on March 5, 1974, and cooperation is now expanding in all fields. Additionally, to commemorate the 50th anniversary, the text “Mongolia-Thailand 50 years” was displayed on the screen of Baiyoke Tower in Bangkok for the entire day.
