Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Prime Minister Ts.Oyunbaatar Tuesday submitted to the Speaker a draft law on metrology.

The draft initiator said this bill has been formulated due to a requirement of upgrading the law on metrological unity, with aims to resolve some difficulties in state policies and to harmonize metrological practices with international standards.

As a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Mongolia needs to follow common principles and methods in the international standards of metrology in order to create appropriate conditions for national industries, supporting domestic and foreign trade, investments and business, Ts.Oyunbaatar said.

"The bill is significant in terms of slackening a centralization of metrological works and services by harmonizing Mongolia’s policy and strategy on metrology and the monitoring system with international standards, making state services quicker, creating good conditions for business," he said.
