Darkhan to cooperate with Bratsk city of Russia

Darkhan-Uul /MONTSAME/ Delegates of Darkhan-Uul aimag led by Governor of the aimag Ch.Enkhbat paid working visit to Bratsk city Irkutsk Region at the invitation of the city Mayor Serebrennikov Sergey Vasilyevich on May 23-25.

During the visit, a document on cooperation between the two cities was signed with the support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Consulate General of Mongolia in Irkutsk, Russia.

At the signing ceremony Governor of Bratsk noted that the proposal to establish relations with aimag or city of Mongolia to the Consulate General of Mongolia in Irkutsk in March, 2019. “At that time we were introduced to Darkhan city and it was important that the city had the same industrial development as ours. Authorities of the city responded faster than we thought and we have established cooperation document within two months. I am hopeful that our further cooperation will develop at the same pace,” he said.

Bratsk produces about 20 percent of the industrial output of the region, aluminum production of the city accounts for 30 percent of total production in the Russian Federation and three percent of global production. The city also produces about 30 percent of the country’s total cellulose and 14 percent of hydropower.

Governor of Darkhan-Uul aimag Ch.Enkhbat emphasized the advantages of Darkhan and Bratsk such as geographical proximity and similar industrial structure.
