Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Mongolian Judo Federation established a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Judo Association today, on February 5. The MoU was signed by First Vice-President of the Mongolian Judo Federation, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia D.Tsogtbaatar and Vice President of the Korea Judo Association Cho Yong-cheol.

The Vice President of the Korea Judo Association said the sides will strengthen bilateral sports cooperation and foster relations between the two countries under the newly-established 4-year cooperation agreement. “First of all, we agreed to conduct a joint training session in South Korea and train South Korean athletes in Mongolia. Also, we have plans to organize a training session of the teams of Mongolia, South Korea, and North Korea after the Asia-Pacific championships to be held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia this April,” he added.

Emphasizing that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and that sports cooperation and the development of winter sports in Mongolia were among the key issues the President of Mongolia touched upon during his recent visit to the Kingdom of Norway, the Mongolian side noted a close partnership will play an important role in holding joint training sessions, exchanging athletes and coaches, and most importantly, preparing for the upcoming summer Olympics. Mr.D.Tsogtbaatar said that the sides exchanged views on establishing judo clubs and dojos in rural areas to promote the sports and physical culture.
