Mongolia's daily coronavirus cases spike to all-time high, total cases exceed 10,000
SocietyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. It was reported at the daily COVID-19 press briefing by the Ministry of Health for April 4, Sunday, Mongolia has hit the highest daily number of new COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began, recording a total of 620 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.
Some 12,235 COVID-19 tests were carried out at PCR laboratories in health clinics of Ulaanbaatar city and rural aimags. Among them, 503 newly confirmed cases were detected in Ulaanbaatar city and 117 in rural regions, including Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Bulgan, Darkhan-Uul, Khovd, Orkhon, Selenge, Uvurkhangai, Sukhbaatar, Tuv, Khentii and Khuvsgul aimags. As a result, the nationwide infection tally is now 10,218, with the cases registered in the capital city reached 8,392.
Over the past 24 hours, 270 coronavirus patients were recovered and discharged from hospital, making the number of COVID-19 recoveries 5,649.
As of April 2, a total of 2,187 coronavirus patients are being treated at hospitals in Ulaanbaatar city and in the rural aimags.
