Legislative framework enables to establish Children’s Fund

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. At its plenary session held on April
8, State Great Khural, the parliament of Mongolia approved amendments to the
law on the government’s special purpose fund.
According to the Press Office of the Parliament Secretariat,
the changes now enable a regulatory framework for establishing the Fund for
Children with the purpose of supporting development and protection for children
and their engagement.
On December 30, 2020, the government of Mongolia approved to
re-establish the Children’s Fund, designed for financing projects to build
child and youth development places, such as the Children’s Library, Children’s
Theatre, and cultural and sports facilities. Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, Prime Minister
at that time pledged that the government would allocate funding of MNT 10
billion for the fund.
