Issues of expanding bilateral cooperation discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. On October 10, Prime Minister of Mongolia L.Oyun-Erdene met with the Speaker of the Senate of Canada George J. Furey, who is paying an official visit to Mongolia.
Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene expressed
confidence that the Canadian legislature will provide comprehensive support for
the implementation of the “Road Map of Mongolia-Canada Cooperation for Comprehensive
Partnership” and advancing bilateral relations to
the level of "Comprehensive Partnership"
within the framework of Mongolia's "third neighbor" policy.
Emphasizing that the Government of Mongolia
is implementing the "New Revival Policy" in order to
strengthen the country’s economic
independence alongside realizing the “Vision-2050” long-term development policy, PM
L.Oyun-Erdene noted the importance of expanding trade and economic cooperation
between the two countries.
In turn, the Speaker of the Senate of
Canada, George J. Furey, expressed satisfaction with the
meeting with the Prime Minister and underscored that Mongolia is a beacon of democracy in
the world. He also stressed the importance of intensifying relations between the supreme
legislative bodies of the two countries in creating a favorable legal
environment for cooperation between Mongolia and Canada. He then voiced satisfaction that relations and cooperation between
Canada and Mongolia are developing in many areas and wished success in the
implementation of Mongolia’s “Vision-2050” long-term development policy.
In addition, the parties reaffirmed their willingness to widely celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Canada in 2023, to organize a number of official visits, meetings, and events. Furthermore, the meeting touched on the expansion of bilateral cooperation in areas such as tourism, agriculture, education, culture, environment, construction, and energy.
