Mongolian Judge Nominated for the Election of International Criminal Court

Ulaanbaatar, February 1, /MONTSAME/. The twenty-first session of the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) opened today at the World Forum Convention Center in the Hague, the Netherlands. 

At  the invitation of the President of the court Piotr Hofmanski,  Mongolian Chief Justice D. Ganzorig, the nominee of the ICC Judge Election D. Erdenebalsuren and other members of the Supreme Court of Mongolia participated in the session.

The session held under the theme of Trust Fund for Victims (TFV), the Fight against impunity for genocide, Crimes against humanity, War crimes, and the Crime of aggression and to help protect humankind from atrocities.


The President of the Court, Piotr Hofmanski, the Prosecutor of the Court, Karim Khan, and the President of the International Court of Justice Joan E. Donoghue received Mongolian judges and discussed future co-operations and unfolding more opportunities for the Mongolian court employees to participate in training programs of ICC. 


In 2023, the ICC Asia Conference will be held in Ulaanbaatar and the President of the ICC P. Hofmanski is planning to participate in it.
