The 4th Mongolia – US Economic Policy Dialogue Held in Washington

Ulaanbaatar, February 6, 2023 /MONTSAME/. The 4th Economic Policy Dialogue between Mongolia and the
United States was held in Washington DC on February 2, 2023. State Secretary of
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia N. Ankhbayar and Principal Deputy
Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs of the U.S.
Department of State W. Baird co-chaired the dialogue.
Amid
changing regional and international relations, the two sides exchanged views on
expanding bilateral economic cooperation to the level of strategic partnership.
The parties reaffirmed their desire to work together to deepen commercial ties
in priority areas such as food security, agriculture, renewable energy,
critical minerals, open skies, and the digital economy.
Mongolia
and the United States reviewed the 2018 Economic Roadmap for Expanded Economic
Partnership and agreed to update it to reflect the broadening scope of
bilateral cooperation by including new areas and opportunities. More than 50
representatives from 20 organizations participated in the Economic Policy
Dialogue and issued a “Joint Statement of the 4th Economic Policy Dialogue
between Mongolia and the United States.”
