Minister of Foreign Affairs Meets her Korean Counterpart

16, 2023 /MONTSAME/. In the framework
of the official visit of Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene to the Republic of
Korea, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia B. Battsetseg met with the
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Park Jin.
While expressing her
pleasure in the actualization of issues to strengthen and develop relations
between Mongolia and Korea, intensify the trade and economic ties and promote
people-to-people exchanges that were agreed upon during the official visit of
the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Korea Park Jin to Mongolia in 2022, Minister
B. Battsetseg expressed her gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Korea for closely cooperating and attaching utmost significance to this
official visit of the Prime Minister of Mongolia L. Oyun-Erdene to the Republic
of Korea.
She highlighted the fruitful
discussions and agreements aimed at further strengthening the Strategic
Partnership relations between our two countries and boosting trade and
investment, as well as the successful implementation of the events and
activities for reinforcing the ties between our two countries’ business
enterprises and attracting investments to our country’s development projects.
Noting the fact that creating
favorable conditions for the free movement of citizens and easing the visa
requirements for people who are traveling to Korea for medical reasons are the
main priorities of this visit, she expressed her confidence that the Ministries
of Foreign Affairs and Ministries of Justice of our two countries would closely
cooperate in easing the travels of citizens of the two countries by setting up
the working group on this matter.
For his side, the Minister of
Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea Park Jin noted, “I am glad that the
Prime Minister of Mongolia L. Oyun-Erdene’s visit to the Republic of Korea is
productive and of high significance to strengthening the Strategic Partnership
relations and cooperation between our two countries and promoting the
people-to-people ties. As a Minister of Foreign affairs of Korea and a person
having a good-natured attitude to Mongolia, I will pay special attention to
translating the issues agreed upon by the Heads of the Governments of our two
countries into reality and easing the travels of citizens.”
Both sides reaffirmed their
commitments to deepen their cooperation in the regional and international arena
and continue their tradition of supporting each other in international
elections. While mentioning the fact that Busan and Ulaanbaatar have sister
city relations and direct flights between the cities are making a significant
contribution to the development of tourism sectors of our two countries, he
expressed his gratitude to Mongolia for voicing their endorsement for Busan,
which is running for the right to host the “World Expo – 2030.”
