Ulaanbaatar, January 24, 2024 /MONTSAME/.  The 5^th session of the Regular Meeting Mechanism between the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China took place today in Beijing, China.

At the 5^th session, the two sides exchanged opinions in the areas of cooperation between parliaments and Standing Committees of the two countries, trade, economy, investment, green development, combating desertification, energy, and border ports, and agreed to give support to the further development of cooperation.

Deputy Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Munkhbaatar Lkhagva met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China Zhao Leji and conveyed the greetings of Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gombojav. The representatives of the two countries emphasized that they are holding the meeting on the eve of the anniversaries, namely the 75^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and China, the 30^th  anniversary of the signing of the agreement of friendly relations and cooperation, the 10^th  anniversary of Mongolia-China relations reaching the level of comprehensive strategic partnership, and the 10^th anniversary of the establishment of the Regular Meeting Mechanism between the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China.

Following the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of the Regular Meeting Mechanism between the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China established in 2014, the session has been held for the fifth time and it is considered being significant to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Mongolia and China and strengthen the cooperation.

The session was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the State Great Khural of Mongolia L. Munkhbaatar Lkhagva and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji, and participated by Chairman of the Standing Committee on Justice D. Tsogtbaatar, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Budget G. Temuulen, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Social Policy P. Anujin, and J. Bat-Erdene, B. Purevdorj, S. Ganbaatar, J. Chinburen, B. Beisen, D. Batlut, members of the Mongolian-Chinese parliamentary group, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the People's Republic of China T. Badral from the Mongolian side, and members of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Standing Committee from the Chinese side.
