Mongolia and China to Implement Joint Project for Combating Desertification

Ulaanbaatar, March 28, 2024 /MONTSAME/. Minister
of Finance of Mongolia Javkhlan Bold and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of
the People's Republic of China Shen Minjuan yesterday signed a letter of
exchange of the Project on Establishing the Mongolia-China Cooperation Center
for Combating Desertification. The project will be implemented with
a grant from the Chinese Government to Mongolia.
The project is considered instrumental for the
two countries to fulfill their obligations under the UN Convention to Combat
Desertification, mitigate the effects of climate change in the region, intensify
green development, and increase afforestation to nine percent.
