Nomination Process for Independent Candidates for Mongolia's 2024 Parliamentary Elections Commences

Ulaanbaatar, May 15, 2024 /MONTSAME/. The process of nominating independent candidates for the 2024 Parliamentary Elections started on May 14, 2024.

 

Candidates can register and submit documents and applications for candidacy through the electronic system of the unified election database at www.e-election.mn. Independent candidates must collect the signatures of at least 801 voters in their constituency to qualify. Before the nomination process, the General Election Commission of Mongolia, in cooperation with relevant organizations, organized classroom training for political parties, coalitions, and independent candidates, providing them with information and instructions. Also, the General Election Commission, with the Independent Authority Against Corruption of Mongolia, released the guidelines for candidates for the 2024 Election of the State Great Khural of Mongolia.

 

The guidelines include instructions on how political parties, coalitions, and independent candidates should prepare and submit documents and where to obtain them. It also provides instructions for creating, reporting, and verifying the Declaration of Income and Assets in the electronic system, reporting election expenses, and understanding the legal regulations related to the election campaign.

 

The nomination process will continue until May 20 of this year.
