The 2024 Election of the State Great Khural: Observers from 40 Countries and 21 International Organizations Work in Mongolia
PoliticsUlaanbaatar, June 28, 2024 /MONTSAME/. A total of 259 observers from 40 countries and 21 organizations are working for the 2024 regular Election of the State Great Khural of Mongolia, according to the General Election Commission of Mongolia.
Most of them or 191 come from member countries of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). The OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights has deployed an Election Observation Mission, consisted of core team experts and long-term observers. The mission will whether the election is in line with OSCE commitments and other international obligations and standards for democratic elections, as well as with national legislation. The day after the election, ODIHR will issue a statement of preliminary findings and conclusions. A final report on the observation of the entire electoral process will be issued approximately two months after the end of the election process.
The rest 68 observers are from countries, except OSCE members, international organizations, and diplomatic missions in Mongolia.
