Ulaanbaatar, January 20, 2025 /MONTSAME/. With funding from the World Bank's Export Development Project of USD 1.1 million, the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Industry of Mongolia fully renovated and provided the Central Leather Testing Laboratory with 83 modern ISO-certified equipment of 76 types, as well as necessary chemicals.

As a result, the Laboratory, which previously analyzed 12 types of products for 22 parameters, can now conduct tests on 16 types of products for over 60 parameters. With the improved testing capability, the Laboratory can detect prohibited chemical substances in imported leather goods and monitor non-compliant items more effectively.

Moreover, five types of laboratories have been set up in compliance with the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). These include laboratories for chemical analysis, sample preparation, physio-mechanical and environmental analysis, and quality control of finished products. As a result, the laboratory can now conduct testing, analysis, and research on par with international practices.
