Emperor of Japan's birthday celebrated here

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Embassy of Japan to Mongolia organized a ceremonial reception to celebrate the birthday of the Emperor of Japan at Shangri-La Hotel of Ulaanbaatar on November 25.

Akihito, the emperor of Japan, was born on December 23 of 1933. The Japanese embassy in Ulaanbaatar annually holds ceremonial receptions, dedicated to the Emperor’s birthday. The opening remarks to this year’s reception were given by Ts.Oyunbaatar, the deputy PM of Mongolia, and Takenori Shimizu, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Mongolia.

Ambassador T.Shimizu highlighted that this year was a fruitful year for cooperation of the two countries. “Mongolian PM Ch.Saikhanbileg paid a visit to Japan last February and the President Ts.Elbegdorj visited in May. Also, the head of Keidanren Mr Sadayuki Sakakibara and the national secutiry adviser Yachi Shotaro visited Mongolia for the first time this year. The visits will undoubtfully contribute to strengthening the mutual understanding between the two countries”, he said.

Apart from the realization of the recently inked Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), Mongolia and Japan have been implementing developmental cooperation in frames of projects such as “Grass Roots” project, the constructions of a vocational hospital and the New Ulaanbaatar International Airport (NUBIA), said the Ambassador.

The latter expressed confidence in the opening of new chapter in Mongolia-Japan economic ties, as the EPA implementation will commence soon.
