WeatherUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Information and Research Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environment has been warning that there is a great chance of severe snow storms expected through Wednesday and Thursday.
Snowfall and blizzards are expected in some parts of western region and in central provinces on January 25, eastern parts of central provinces and in some parts of eastern and Gobi regions on January 26 and 28, and in northern part of central region on January 27.
Winds will get stronger in most regions on January 25 and 27, and in the Gobi and steppes on January 26 and 28, reaching 14-16 m/sec.
The nighttime temperature around Lake Uvs, the depression of Darkhad, head of River Zavkhan, the valley of rivers Ider and Tes will be -36-31, and the daytime, -25-20 Celsius.
In mountainous areas of Khangai and Khuvsgul, Khuren Belchir, and the banks of Orkhon-Selenge, Kharaa, Eroo, Tuul, Terelj, Kherlen, Onon, Ulz and Khalkh rivers, the nighttime temperature will be -31-26, and the daytime, -20-15.
In the depression of Great Lakes, front valley of Altai Mountains and in Khentii Mountains, the nighttime temperature will be -27-22, and the daytime, -15-10.
In sourthern part of the Gobi, the nighttime temperature will be -16-11, and the daytime, -6-1 Celsius.
In other regions, the nighttime temperature will be -21-16, and the daytime, -9-4 Celsius.
The temperatures will drop again from January 28.
