Consultation on ensuring gender equality in the TVET sector held

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. In collaboration with the National
Committee on Gender Equality (NCGE) and Ministry of Education and Science, ‘Cooperative
Technical and Vocational Education (cTVET) project’ successfully conducted a
consultation meeting on ‘Ensuring gender equality in the TVET sector’ on June
21, 2022. The cTVET project is commissioned by the BMZ, co-financed by KOICA
and implemented by GIZ Mongolia.
The opening remarks are delivered by T.Enkhbayar, Secretary
of the National Committee on Gender Equality and Head of the Secretariat and
T.Enkhbayar stressed out, "conducting a gender audit of TVET institutions
aimed at developing and implementing an evidence-based gender-responsive action
plan is a significant step forward for enforcement of the sector’s
gender-responsive policy."
The findings, conclusions and recommendations of the
participatory gender audit were presented at the meeting, and the
representatives of the partner schools presented their activities in the field
of gender equality.
The gender audit covered 616 people from 7 polytechnic
colleges in Ulaanbaatar and local aimags, including director, managers,
teachers, students, and partners, and analyzed and developed recommendations
based on the organization's view of gender culture, information management, products,
and Monitoring and Evaluation systems. An organizational gender action plan
will be developed based on the results of the gender audit.
More than 30 people attended the meeting, including
representatives from the Ministry of Education and Science, Ministry of
Finance, the National Committee on Gender Equality, the General Department of
Education, National Institute for Educational Research, Management of the
capacity development centers, KOICA, UNFPA, NGOs and associations.
