Onon-Balj National Park Registered to UNESCO Global Network of Biosphere Reserves

Ulaanbaatar, October 11, 2023 /MONTSAME/. Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Audrey Azoulay paid a courtesy call on the President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa on October 11, 2023.
The two sides exchanged views in detail on the progress and results of the joint projects, implemented by Mongolia and UNESCO as well as issues to be considered in the future.
The President of Mongolia emphasized active cooperation with UNESCO in spreading education, eradicating illiteracy, preserving national history and cultural heritage, promoting technical and technological achievements, and strengthening fundamental human rights and freedoms over the 60 years since the start of the cooperation.
During the meeting, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay handed
over a Certificate to the President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, confirming
the inclusion of Onon-Balj National Park in the UNESCO World Network of
Biosphere Reserves.
