Morin Khuur Orchestra Performs in Rome

Ulaanbaatar, December 5, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Within the framework of the State Visit of President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to the Italian Republic, the Morin Khuur (Horsehead Fiddle) Orchestra, Laureate of the State Supreme Decoration, Order of Chinggis Khaan, and Cultural Envoy of Mongolia, has presented its performance “Beautiful Country of Mongolia” for the first time in Rome.
The audience included representatives of the governments of the two countries, public and cultural figures, Italian citizens, and Mongolians residing in Italy and other European Union countries. The musicians of the Morin Khuur Orchestra performed outstanding works of national art and culture.
Since its establishment in 1992, the Morin Khuur Ensemble has delivered more than 3,000 performances in Mongolia and over 600 performances in more than 20 countries worldwide. In acknowledgment of its outstanding contribution to promoting Mongolia’s national arts, the Government of Mongolia conferred upon the Ensemble the State Supreme Decoration, the Order of Chinggis Khaan, and expanded its membership to form the Morin Khuur Orchestra.
According to the Office of the President, the Orchestra has previously performed “Beautiful Country of Mongolia” at prominent international venues, including NHK Hall in Japan, the United Nations Headquarters, the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Opera Hall of the Palace of Versailles in Paris, the Debussy Hall at the Nantes Conservatory, and the Grand Hall of the Jaguar Symphony Orchestra in Shanghai.
