UN Secretary-General to pay official visit to Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres will pay an official visit to Mongolia on August 8-11 at the invitation of President of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh.


Within the framework of the visit, the UN Secretary-General will pay a courtesy call on President U.Khurelsukh and hold meetings with Chairman of the State Great Khural G.Zandanshatar, Prime Minister L.Oyun-Erdene and Foreign Minister B.Battsetseg. Moreover, he will visit the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Mongolia and become acquainted with the operations of the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) as well as Mongolia's history, culture, traditions, nature and environment.


It will be the first visit by the UN Secretary-General to Mongolia since Ban Ki-moon’s visit in 2009.
