Wheat seed to be imported without VAT and excise tax
Economy | AgricultureUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting on Monday backed a draft amendment and its concept on exemption of VAT and excise tax, and decided to submit it to parliament.
The draft amendment aims to exempt an imported wheat seed from the VAT and excise tax in order to normally perform the 2016 spring sowing.
The country harvested this year 215.7 thousand tons of grain, of which 203.9 thousand tons is wheat. This year’s works slackened due to weeather, which led to the poorer by 20 percent harvest against the previous year. .
Nationwide, farm lands of 335.7 thousand hectares have been ploughed for the spring sowing, and 48 thousand tons of grain are required. Spme 20.8 thousand tons of wheat seed have been prepared by people and entities, 7.2 thousand tons--by the state reserve and fund for farming. The National Security Council has issued a recommendation on importing the remaining 20 thousand tons of wheat seed in 2016.
