Some 15 thousand terawatt power can be produced by renewable energy
EconomyUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) have presented the renewable energy preparedness report, in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of Mongolia. According to it, some 15 thousand terawatt/hour electric power can be produced per year when using our solar and wind energy.
In reality, only 93 gegawatt/hour power was produced by wind-farm in 2015.
Ministry of Energy and the National Renewable Energy Center have planned a commencing a uilization of wind and solar energy of the Gobi.
As of today, renewable energy produces only up to seven percent of all power supply. Share of renewable energy in the total power production is intended to reach 20 percent by 2023, and to 30 percent by 2030, as reflected in the Concept of Green Development and the Law on Energy Saving.
