Household monetary income declines

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ According to results of the Household Socio-Economic Survey in first quarter of this year, household average monetary income per month reached MNT 849.5 thousand which decreased by MNT 92.0 thousand or 9.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. It was mainly affected by a decrease of revenue in the agricultural industry by MNT 55.5 thousand or 47.6%.

As of the 1st quarter of 2016, household average monetary expenditure per month was

MNT 965.0 thousand which shows an increase of MNT 1.7 thousand or 0.2% against the previous year. It was affected by the increase of MNT 45.1 thousand or 6.6% in the expenditure of non-food products, services and other goods.

In the period, the number of households with incomes of under MNT 300 thousand was 123.7 thousand which accounts for 14.4% of total households, and the number of household with expenditures of below MNT 300 was 73 thousand which accounts for 8.5% of all households.

The number of families with incomes of MNT 300-500 thousand was 152.9 thousand or 17.8% of total households, while the households with the same size of expenditures was 139.2 thousand or 16.2% of total households. The number of families with incomes of above MNT 2,100 thousand was 39.5 thousand which is 4.6% of all households in Mongolia by first quarter of 2016.

By 1st quarter of 2016, the number of households with incomes of below MNT 300 thousand increased by 32.3 thousand or 3.3 units, while the number of families with incomes of MNT 500-900 thousand went up by 41.2 thousand or 3.5 units against the previous year.
