Plan being implemented to reduce corruption risks
Economy | MiningUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Corruption risks in mining sector have been evaluated by IRIM (Independent Research Institute of Mongolia) in line with the market demand and the recommendations from the UN Development Program, reported Ministry of Mining on Thursday.
Risks of corruption in the phases before and during mining operations, as well as in the mine shut down phases were studied.
On the results of this study, Minister of Mining has issued a direction and set up a working group on reducing risks of corruption. The group comprises representatives of ministries, agencies, Corruption Combating Agency, National Mining Association, Mongolian Coal Association and “TAN Coalition” NGO.
This month, the working group completed the Plan for Reducing Risks of Corruption in Mining Sector, and launched its implementation, reposts the Ministry.
